The special natural, historic, cultural and architectural features of "The County", linked by the "webs of life" created by the rural landscapes and vistas, the varied shoreline and beaches, the serenity of the harbours and trails and the active involvement of residents in cultural events has led PEHAC to seek designation of Prince Edward County as a National Cultural Landscape. Here are some examples!

Natural Heritage:

Lake on the Mountain
from the air showing the difference in elevation from Lake Ontario
geological phenomenon, 200 feet above Lake Ontario

Sandbanks Provincial Park,
geological phenomenon, largest baymouth sandbar
separating freshwater in the world

Heron

334 species of migrating birds cross Lake Ontario to use
Prince Edward County staging points:
compares with Point Pelee with 365 species.
