SANDBANKS PROVINCIAL PARK
Cross Country Ski Trails

Trail

Sandbanks Provincial Park has excellent trails for both beginners and experienced skiers. The majority of the 11 km's of tracked trails consist of gentle slopes and curves. At 6 km's , the yellow trail is the longest. (See the 'Trail Distance Chart' below). Combining several of the smaller loops allows skiers to set their own lengths.

See detailed map of ski trails.

Chalet

Even the hardest of cross country skiers appreciates a warm fire and a cup of hot cocoa after an exhilarating run on the trails. The Friends of Sandbanks maintain the Ski Chalet and keep it stocked up on the essentials. Stop in and get acquainted with your fellow skiers.

Rules

In order to ensure the enjoyment of the trails by all users... we ask that you follow a few basic rules while skiing at Sandbanks. Please do not walk on the tracked trails. Footprints damage the tracks laid out by the grooming machine. Also, we ask that you keep your dogs off the groomed trails. Pets, however, are welcome in other areas of the park but should be leashed, at all times. Help us maintain the trails and facilities by leaving them the way you found them.

Fee

A suggested donation of $1.00/day (adults) and $.50/day (youth) would be greatly appreciated. All donations received go directly to the maintenance of the trails and chalet.

Friends

The Friends of Sandbanks are working with Sandbanks Park to make these trails enjoyable for all. While every effort is being made to ensure an adequate supply of firewood, refreshments, water... we invite you to contribute your time to our efforts.
