We welcome you to a cozy, 4 bedroom, 1½ storey home in the heart of our 56 acre hobby farm. The home has been recently renovated; a new sun room has been finished and a large picture window has been added to the breakfast nook in the kitchen.

The farm was patented in 1801 and the house was built shortly after, so it is approximately 200 years old. Construction is board and batten siding on wood frame. It has seen at least 3 major additions and hence has three levels to the main floor.

Nestled in the centre of 3 acres of lawns, rock gardens, natural ponds and streams, our home is a secluded, peaceful haven. The main house is 1200 feet from the Pt. Petre Rd. and almost invisible because of all the trees at the pond.

Apart from our two horses, Misty and Foxy, and the chickens and turkeys, there are hundreds of varieties of birds in this area and they love the ponds, trees and open meadows. You will wake to doves cooing in the yard.

Main Floor

Our large country kitchen (24x20) has an island, breakfast nook and patio doors leading to a screened in patio.

A step up through an 8’ archway leads to the living room with TV/DVD/Stereo/CD, etc.

Straight ahead is our dining room, behind French doors (16x10) boasting a 9’ harvest table which seats 10.

Off to the right is our Sun Room, with wood stove, magnificent views of gardens, pull out couch and library.

To the left is a medium sized bedroom with ensuite bathroom and laundry facilities.

Weekly from June through Sept 30

$1500 with a $500 deposit to confirm your reservation. The balance plus a $300 damage deposit is due 30 days before your arrival. The damage deposit is refundable 30 days after departure.

Rental is at 3:00 PM Saturday to 11:00 AM the following Saturday. The house should be clean and tidy and beds used should be stripped of linens.

Bedding, sheets and towels are provided.

We love our country home and the surrounding beauty. We are naturalists at heart and welcome the birds and wild creatures that share the land with us. We are landscapers by trade and organic in our practise to help preserve the wildlife. Point Petre and Point Traverse are fast earning a reputation as being the premium birding area in Ontario.

From Picton at Lake Street (Cty. Rd. 10), come South to Cherry Valley, turn left (still #10) and come about 3Km to Cty. Rd. 24 (Point Petre). The road winds for 7Km until you arrive at 962. Our signs are at the road. Long driveway. Looking forward to seeing you.
