The White Chapel
Annual Chapel Service
Hwy 49 and White Chapel Rd. Picton (613) 476-7532
|
Held annually in June.
The White Chapel is a small, starkly beautiful, whitewashed chapel that has stood at the edge of Picton, off of what is now Highway 49, for almost 200 years. Built in 1809, it is a simple, spiritual and inspiring place that holds just one public church service a year. You are warmly invited to join the congregation in the chapel where the earliest settlers sang their hymns - a chapel that has been a place of worship longer than any other church of Methodist origin in Ontario.
The White Chapel is open every Sunday afternoon during July and August for viewing. For more information call Picton United Church at 613-476-6050
