The Home Child Care program is designed to meet individual needs of children from birth to 12 years of age by offering supervised care within a family setting. Homes are selected and carefully screened according to requirements of the Day Nurseries Act. Staff assist parents in making arrangements for full, part-time, hourly, after-hour and shift-work care. Additional staffing is available to foster and promote the inclusion of children from birth to 12 years of age with special needs in licensed community child care settings. Program staff collaborate with Resource Consultants to introduce effective strategies for successful inclusion, respond to children's changing needs, provide child care staff with essential training opportunities, and ensure that the appropriate resources are made available to child care programs.
