Prince Edward County is to Ontario what
Saltspring
Island is to British Columbia: a mecca for artists from all walks of
life. The County, as it is affectionately
called, is home to the Regent
Theatre which shows movies and showcases
live performances, the Prince Edward County Arts
Council, and the Prince Edward
County Quilters' Guild to name a few.
Without a doubt, you won't be able to visit
the
hundreds of local artisan
shops on a single day trip. It would take much
longer than that to see all the antique
and craft shops, glasswork studios, painters'
galleries, pottery places, sculptors' exhibits, and museums.
And, if you time it right, you can attend
any or
all of the special events
that might interest you such as live performances at the Regent
Theatre and Festival Players,
Art
in the County, Art
on the Fence, Music
in Motion, Jazz Festival,
Authors Festival,
Antique Fair,
the Studio
and Gallery Tour, or any of the numerous
arts and crafts shows and perhaps even a Strawberry or
Raspberry Social.
Prince Edward County is truly an artist's
paradise
and once you've been there, you, too, will want to come back again and
again. Come see for yourself why the County's rural charm and
breathtaking beauty have so inspired those that now call the County
home.
